Hi, I’m Caitlin—the pediatric occupational therapist and curious-minded person behind JuegoHouse. I care about decreasing barriers and making play and participation more accessible without making life more complicated than it already is.
Why JuegoHouse?
The name combines Spanish and English and loosely translates to “GameHouse.” Play is a primary occupation of childhood, and home is where many skills, routines, relationships, and real-life challenges meet.
JuegoHouse grew from a desire to offer practical ideas beyond a single therapy setting: ideas for families, educators, and people designing products or experiences for children.
Background
Caitlin earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University. Her professional background includes preschool education, outpatient pediatric therapy, pediatric long-term care, early intervention, and school-based therapy.
The short version of the philosophy
Use what you have when you can. Make the child an active participant. Choose the least complicated option that meaningfully improves access. And remember that it is okay to slow down.
